The Premier League match between Chelsea and Fulham has been moved to Tuesday from Boxing Day and sees the Blues start as odds on favourites for their West London derby with the Cottagers. The Blues are 3/10 on to win at Stamford Bridge, while Fulham are a big 10/1 to take a rare three points against their near neighbours, with the draw priced 4/1 with William Hill.
It is the latest London derby for Chelsea after their creditable 1-1 draw with Tottenham on Thursday, although it was a result that leaves them in fourth place and 11 points behind leaders Manchester City. A top four place would appear to be the limit of their ambitions this season and they look set to enhance that bid with three points on Monday.
They have lost only one of their last twenty against Fulham in the Premier League and take on a Fulham side short of confidence. Fulham were battered 5-0 at home by Manchester United on Wednesday and goals could be on the menu once again.
Chelsea have scored in every league match at Stamford Bridge this term and all of them have involved over 2.5 goals. After Fulham's humiliating defeat to United, it is no surprise that over 2.5 goals is 8/13 odds on this week, while a side shorn of Mark Schwarzer, Zdenek Grygea and Simon Davies could struggle to contain Daniel Sturridge and co.
Sturridge has scored two in his last two matches and is the 3/1 favourite to score first with Hills, while Didier Drogba has hinted at a return to form with four goals in seven. Drogba has scored three in his last four against Fulham and could be worth a look to score first at 10/3; with Drogba and Sturridge 11/5 to both score in the 'anytime goalscorer coupled' market.
It is defensively that Chelsea have been most impressive against Fulham though as the Cottagers have failed to score in their last three against the Blues, with WilliamHill.com offering 21/20 for Chelsea to win to nil. However, it is worth noting that Chelsea are without the suspended Ramires, while Mikel, Branislav Ivanovic and David Luiz are injury doubts.
The worry for Fulham, who are currently thirteenth in the league, is their lack of goals away from home this season. They have scored just four goals in eight away league matches, with Clint Dempsey the one bright spot. The American has scored three in his last five and is a juicy 9/1 to be first goalscorer with Hills.
There could well be an early goal in Monday's match as there have been five goals in the opening ten minutes of the last six matches between Chelsea and Fulham, with William Hill offering 21/10 for the first goal of Monday's match to be scored between 0-15 minutes.
It is tough to see past a Chelsea win on Monday, particularly as Fulham have failed to win in 35 London derbies away from home and have won just four of their last 45 Premier League away matches, including one this term. After Fulham's battering at the hands of Man Utd, the odds of 11/2 for Chelsea to win by four or more goals with Hills could provide interest.
