Arsenal v Birmingham Betting Preview Favours 3 Points For Gunners

Birmingham take on title chasing Arsenal this weekend at St Andrews having lost their last two games and according to the betting are in danger of losing again. Alex McLeish’s team have been somewhat of a revelation this season and at one point were challenging for the top four spot, after starting the season as one of the favourites in the betting for relegation. They now sit in 9th place, with little left to play for this season other than pride and McLeish will hope that they ‘can stop the rot’ and show plenty of that against the ‘Gunners’.

Birmingham are a difficult side to beat at home having only lost twice in the league at St Andrews this season, but looking at the betting markets it seems the Bookmakers across the board believe that they will lose for a third time against Arsenal. Arsenal are in fact 8/15 odds on with Ladbrokes to win, while Birmingham are 9/2 with the draw being a 5/2 option.

Arsenal are still very much in the title race but know that they have to win matches like this to maintain their challenge. We all know however that they have a history of slipping up in games like this which is why we think the odds of a Birmingham win or a draw should be completely ignored.

That said, Arsenal are on a run of six straight wins and although they have struggled in some of those matches, they have shown great determination to win the points. With Cesc Fabregas back in the side and Nicholas Bendtner finding the target with increasing regularity it is hard to imagine them getting beat in this.

We are therefore going to suggest a narrow Arsenal win by a scoreline of no more than 1 goal and woulkd back either a 1-0 or 2-1 win with odds of 6/1 and 7/1 respectively from Ladbrokes
