Leeds and Tottenham lock horns at Elland Road on Sunday afternoon live on ESPN. The match, which is one of four Championship versus Premier League clashes in the FA Cup fourth round this weekend, could prove to be a competitive affair with the Leeds faithful roaring their side on in the hope that they can cause an upset against an in-form Spurs side.
Back in the 2009/10 competition Leeds held Spurs to a 2-2 draw at White Hart Lane courtesy of a last gasp equaliser from Jermaine Beckford. The goal forced a replay in Yorkshire, with a Jermain Defoe hat-trick giving the top flight side a 3-1 victory. The striker will be gunning for more goals this time around and can be backed at 10/3 to open the scoring, while he is a tempting bet at 13/10 to hit the back of the net in a Spurs win.
The North London club head into the match in cracking form having lost just one of their last 14 games in all competitions, with William Hill installing the visitors as the hot 8/11 favourites. Back-to-back wins will no doubt have boosted Leeds' confidence following an indifferent run of results, meaning they could be a tempting bet at 4/1, while a draw may be the way to go at 5/2.
AVB’s men are unbeaten in seven games against Leeds and will be expected to extend that streak on Sunday. They thrashed Coventry 3-0 in the third round and have been priced at 8/1 to return south with a 2-0 victory, while a 2-1 win is available at 7/1. They can also be found at a decent price of 13/10 to win with over 2.5 goals in the match.
Leeds needed a replay to overcome Birmingham City in the previous round of the competition and they will need to be at their very best to avoid a defeat on Sunday afternoon. However, it is worth noting that they have been strong at Elland Road this season, winning nine of their 14 league matches.
Furthermore they have kept four clean sheets in their last six league games in front of their home fans, and can be backed at 9/2 to keep another one on Sunday. William Hill Bookmakers, have handed Neil Warnock's men long odds of 14/1 to record a slender 1-0 victory, while a 1-1 draw is priced at 7/1.
Leeds striker Luciano Becchio, who submitted a transfer request earlier in the week, is available at 7/1 in the first goalscorer market. The 29-year-old found the back of the net the last time the two sides met and has a whopping 16 goals to his name already this season making him a tempting bet at 2/1 to get his name on the scoresheet.
The spicy encounter is likely to be cagey in the first-half but you would back Spurs to eventually show their superiority and come away with the win. So with this in mind they are appear good value at 17/5 to draw at half-time and then finish victorious at the final whistle.
