Betting Has It For Spurs Over Fulham

Tottenham take on London rivals Fulham at White Hart Lane in the Premier League this Tuesday in what is a very important game for both sides.

The New Year has not got off to the greatest of starts for Harry Redknapp and his team, having failed to win in three matches since knocking Peterborough out of the FA Cup on 2nd January. They will be hugely disappointed by the manner in which they played against Liverpool when losing 2-0 at Anfield last week and by how they gifted Leeds with a last second penalty in the FA Cup last weekend, which forced a replay and an extra game that Spurs could do without.

That said Victor Chandler bookmakers have them clear favourites to win this match with odds of 4/7, they have the draw as an 13/5 option and Fulham out at an attractive looking bet of 5/1 to take all three points.

Fulham, having beaten reigning Premier League champions Man Utd by 3-0 just before Christmas, have failed to win a single league game since, losing their last three. It is true that they have won their FA Cup matches in January and are in the draw for the fifth round, but Spurs are a ‘different kettle of fish’ to Accrington Stanley and Swindon Town, meaning that Fulham will have to be at their best to get anything from the match.

The two sides fought out a goalless draw at Craven Cottage on Boxing Day in what was a pretty non-descript game. We therefore would not be at all surprised to see a similar outcome in this, but would probably just err on the side of a narrow Spurs win. Spurs striker Jermaine Defoe, despite missing a penalty against Leeds the other day, still looked sharp and he should be a handful for a Fulham defence who have struggled lately. We think Defoe is an excellent bet at 17/4 with Victor Chandler to score the opening goal.
