The live Saturday lunchtime kick-off in the Premier League sees two sides woefully out of form go head-to-head at the Britannia Stadium as Stoke take on Blackburn. Stoke start the match as 4/5 favourites and they look good value to end a four match losing run, while Blackburn are available at odds of 4/1, with the draw priced 12/5 by Bet 365.
Stoke have endured a terrible run of form in the Premier League of late and Saturday's match might not be the most pleasing on the eye that you will see all season. Tony Pulis's men are now fourteenth in the league after losing four league matches in a row, including their last two at their usually formidable home ground.
However, a fixture against a team that are seemingly on a downward slide would have been just what Pulis wanted, particularly as Stoke have won four and lost none of the last five against Blackburn. Stoke have kept a clean sheet in each of those Stoke v Blackburn meetings, while only one team has scored in the last eight fixtures between the two, and only Stoke to score on Saturday can be backed at odds of 2/1 with B365.
It is defensively that Stoke have struggled of late though as they have conceded fourteen goals in their last four in the league and a look at over 2.5 goals in the match could be worthwhile at 9/10.
Peter Crouch should be looking forward to taking on Blackburn as he has scored four goals in his last four matches against Rovers. He may have only scored four goals this season but he could be worth backing to score first at 9/2 with Bet365. Meanwhile, Crouch's strike partner Jon Walters has scored four in the last five league games at home, including three in three, and he is 5/1 to be first goalscorer.
A Stoke goal or two certainly looks likely as Blackburn have failed to keep a clean sheet in their last fifteen league matches. Their recent form has been woeful and the pressure continues to mount on manager Steve Kean, who is well fancied in the next manager to be sacked odds.
His Blackburn side are languishing in nineteenth in the league after winning just one of their last twelve league games and they have failed to win any of their last seven. Furthermore, they have failed to win in six away matches and it is tough to see them getting a result this weekend.
The one bright spot for Kean has been the form of Yakubu, who has scored five in six starts, and he is 17/2 to score first with Bet365.com. Furthermore, Chris Samba should be fit, although Vince Grella and Ryan Nelsen are out injured, while David Dunn is suspended after his red card against Wigan.
Late goals have been a feature of Blackburn's recent matches as there have been three goals after the 90th minute in their last four and a goal to be scored after 74.59minutes on Saturday is priced 5/6.
