The Copa Del Rey quarter final second leg takes place between Barcelona v Real Madrid this Wednesday at the Camp Nou. Barca will be defending a 2-1 lead they achieved in the Bernabeu last week, thanks to a fightback after going a Cristiano Ronaldo goal down with two second half goals from Carlos Puyol and Eric Abidal. Barca have been priced up as 8/13 to win this second leg by bookmakers Ladbrokes and are massive favourites at 1/11 to qualify for the semi-finals. In fact, Barcelona are also odds on to win the Copa Del Rey at this stage, a 1/2 chance accoring to Ladbrokes.
Barcelona are unbeaten in their last thirteen matches in normal time against Real Madrid, with just last season's extra time defeat in the Copa Del Rey final the blot for Pep Guardiola's side. The Catalan sid certainly seem to have the edge over their bitter rivals and have won their last three matches against Jose Mourinho's side. The La Liga encounter between the two sides finished 3-1 in the favour of Barcelona at Madrid but despite this the Catalan side trail Real by five points in the Primera League Table. Barcelona's troubles have come on the road having lost one and drawn four of their nine matches, whilst they've one all but one of their ten matches at the Camp Nou.
Jose Mourinho's tactics against Barcelona have come under continual scrutiny with cries of underhand tactics. Once again a fortnight ago the Madrid players seemed to be intent on roughing up their opposition and you can back there to be over 7.5 cards to be shown at odds of evens with Bet365. The Portuguese Real Madrid centre back duo of Pepe and Ricardo Carvalho were lucky to escape a red card seven days ago and the 6/5 available at Sky Bet for there to be a sending off looks a decent bet.
It's no surprise that Lionel Messi is 5/2 favourite to score the first goal on Wednesday night, especially following his hat-trick in La Liga at the weekend. The diminutive Argentinian is 4/6 to score anytime.
There have been sixteen goals in the four games between the two sides so far this season including the two legged Spanish Super Cup. The bookmakers make both teams to score a 4/7 chance which is short enough, as is the same price for their to be more than over 2.5 goals. If you're willing to take a punt then it's 11/8 about there being over 3.5 goals, keeping up with the four goal a game average from this season.
Madrid have opened the scoring in three of the four meetings this season and the 22/1 about Madrid leading at half time but Barcelona winning at full time looks a good bet with Ladbrokes.
