Aston Villa v Arsenal Odds: Back Cazorla to score in a Gunners win

There is live Premier League action from Villa Park on Saturday evening as Aston Villa welcome Arsenal to their West Midlands home. Both sides have struggled for consistency this season but it is Villa who are in deep trouble ahead of the game as they bid to end a dismal home run, while the Gunners are looking to extend a four-match unbeaten run.

Arsenal go into the game as 4/6 odds on favourites with William Hill, who go 4/1 for Villa to pick up a rare home win, while the draw is 5/2. Villa have won only two of their last 11 games at Villa Park in the Premier League and it is no surprise that they are underdogs after a couple of damaging recent defeats.

They lost 3-2 to Manchester United two weeks ago before they were humbled 5-0 at Man City last weekend, a result which saw them slip into the relegation zone. Paul Lambert has quite a job on his hands as he tries to get the best out of a youthful squad, although it is one of his more senior men who will hope to make a rare start.

Darren Bent has fallen down the pecking order at Villa Park but his record of six goals in eight league games against Arsenal could see him restored to the side and he is 8/1 to be first goalscorer. Goals have certainly been a feature of Villa's recent outings and over 3.5 goals could be worth a look at 13/8 with Hills on Saturday.

Arsenal's last two league games have produced 13 goals so there could be some entertainment on Saturday and the Gunners will hope to add some consistency to their goalscoring prowess. Arsene Wenger's men booked their place in the last-sixteen of the Champions League with a 2-0 win over Montpellier on Wednesday and confidence will be high after they beat Tottenham 5-2 last weekend.

Lukas Podoloski was on target in both of those recent wins and he has now scored three goals in his last three appearances, with Hills going 11/2 he scores first on Saturday. Olivier Giroud, who has scored four in his last four, is 4/1 favourite in that particular market but for a touch more value it could be worth a look at Santi Cazorla.

The Spanish playmaker has been Arsenal's stand-out player so far this season and he could run the show against a youthful Villa midfield. William Hill offer a special price of 7/1 for Cazorla to score in an Arsenal win and the Gunners look worthy of their 'favourites' tag for this match.

They are unbeaten in the last 13 Aston Villa v Arsenal games at Villa Park and it bodes well that they have lost only three of their last 14 away league games. Two of those three defeats came in their most recent visits to Norwich and Manchester United but they should have too much for this Villa side, with the correct score of 3-1 available at 11/1.

There is an interesting statistic from recent meetings between these two teams as the last nine fixtures between Villa and Arsenal have seen seven goals scored in the 87th minute or later. William Hill go 2/1 for a goal to be scored between the 86th minute and full-time on Saturday and that could be worth a look.
