Bayer Leverkusen v Chelsea Betting: Tempting odds for a draw at the Bay Arena

Under pressure Chelsea travel to the Bay Arena for their Champions League Group E clash with Bayer Leverkusen on Wednesday night. The Blues start as 6/5 favourites in the match betting with Bet 365, while Leverkusen are priced 12/5, but we fancy the draw could be the way to go at a tempting 9/4.

Chelsea currently sit top of Group E on eight points, two points clear of Bayer Leverkusen, although that cannot mask their current problems. Rumours of unrest between manager Andre Villas-Boas and the Chelsea board are gathering pace and recent results on the pitch tell their own story.

The Blues have won just two of their last six matches and recent history would suggest that they will do well to come away from Germany with three points this week. They come up against a Chelsea defence that has kept just two clean sheets in eleven matches, although Chelsea will fancy their chances of scoring as they have failed to score only once in their last eleven, with both teams to score 8/11 on.

Frank Lampard has rediscovered his scoring touch with eight goals for club and country this term, with B365 pricing him 15/2 to score first, while Fernando Torres if 5/1 favourite to grab the first goal.

Chelsea's 2-1 defeat to Torres's former club Liverpool on Sunday highlighted problems in their side as they slipped to fifth in the Premier League. They can qualify for the knockout stages of the Champions League with victory on Wednesday but that looks difficult against a Leverkusen side that has won five of their last seven at home in Europe, including both of their Champions League matches this season.

A draw could be a more realistic aim, particularly as Chelsea have won only two of their last seven in the Champions League. A score draw can be backed at 10/3, while the match to finish as a draw with under 2.5 goals is available at 3/1 with Bet365.
