Newcastle Tipped To Enhance Fine Run Of Recent Form Against Brighton

Sunday's live Premier League offering comes from the Amex Stadium as Newcastle head to the South Coast to take on Brighton and the Magpies are tipped to get something out of this clash after winning both meetings with the Seagulls last season....

  • Five of Brighton's seven games in all competitions have gone under 2.5 goals
  • Chris Hughton hasn't won in six matches as a manager against Newcastle - Drawn Two, Lost Four

Brighton v Newcastle
Tips Newcastle win with draw no bet    Best Bet @ 19 / 20

Head-To-Head

These two sides were obviously promoted together from the Championship and Rafa Benitez's men enjoyed the better of this Brighton v Newcastle fixture in the second tier, winning 2-0 at home and 2-1 away last term.

Another Newcastle win can be backed at 7/4 (Betfred) and they are certainly in good touch as they have recovered from back-to-back defeats to start the season by winning their next three in a row.

A 3-0 victory against West Ham was followed by a 1-0 win at Swansea and a 2-1 success against Stoke, and we are going to back the Newcastle win with 'draw no bet' at 19/20 with William Hill.

Lack Of Goals

Brighton's manager Chris Hughton has yet to win a game as a manager against his old team, Newcastle, drawing two and losing four. The hosts are 7/4 to win or 11/5 to draw and they did pick up their sole win of the campaign in their last home game against a strangely subdued West Bromwich Albion.

However, Brighton, who have been boosted by the news that Bruno, Glenn Murray and Gaetan Bong will be fit for Sunday, have struggled for goals this season and they lost against a previously beleaguered Bournemouth twice in league and cup competitions last week. They have failed to score in four of their seven outings in all competitions and five of those have gone under 2.5 goals.

Backing under 2.5 goals is a market for odds-on backers (8/13 with Bet Victor) but we fully expect Newcastle to prove to be the value against a poor Brighton side.
