Newcastle v Blackburn Odds: Back Rovers to earn a draw at St James Park

Newcastle United host Blackburn Rovers at St. James Park in the Premier League on Saturday. The Magpies are having their best start to a season in a long time as they currently find themselves situated in the top-4 while Rovers were lifted off the bottom of the league table last week after their thrilling result over Arsenal. After taking nine points from their first five games, Newcastle are still one of only a handful of teams in the Premier League who are still unbeaten. Blackburn scored just as many goals as Newcastle have all season in their last outing in the Premier League. In an amazing game, Rovers got their first win of the campaign after beating Arsenal 4-3 at Ewood Park. After being 2-1 down at halftime, Blackburn mounted a stunning comeback to get the win and ease the pressure on manager Steve Kean.

That result will have given Blackburn’s fans a renewed sense of optimism that they can survive this season as the spirited display shown against the Gunners mirrored that of the performance in the 1-1 draw away to Fulham the weekend before. Blackburn still look very fragile at the back and will find it tough this season but the players have shown in the last two games that they are ready for the fight.

In the betting for Saturday, expect it to be a close game between these two sides and back the draw at 12/5 with Unibet. Newcastle are still unbeaten and they should hold onto that record against Blackburn, however, their lack of firepower upfront could cause them problems. The Magpies haven’t been scoring enough and cannot rely on Leon Best to pop up with the goals every game.
