The ongoing saga of who will be the next Fulham Manager took another twist as long time favourite Martin Jol was persuaded to stay at Ajax. As a result, there's been a real shake up in the betting with bookmaker Bet365 making former England manager Sven Goran Eriksson their 6/4 favourites for the Craven Cottage job.

Ajax chiefs persuaded former Spurs boss Jol to stay on another season after Jol had become frustrated with the lack of funds available to build. This means Fulham's search for a new manager continues and it is one of the names first linked with the job in West London who is again heading the market. The former England manager was in charge for the Ivory Coast's disappointing World Cup campaign in South Africa and it could be a time for the Swede to return to club management.
Former manager Roy Hodgson has left big boots to fill after he guided the Cottagers to the Europa League final last season, before upping sticks to join Liverpool after Rafael Benitez's departure. Bet 365 have Eriksson as their favourite, but the likes of Cardiff City's Dave Jones along with current caretaker boss Ray Lewington are also prominent in the betting at 9/2 and 16/1 respectively.
Mark Hughes heads a trio of potential managers who are currently out of work at 13/2 with Bet365. Hughes has been out of a job since the turn of the year when sacked by Manchester City but may not be a popular choice with the fans having played for Chelsea in his heyday. Alan Curbishley seems to always be linked with manager jobs and the Fulham hotseat is no different, the former Charlton man an 8/1 shot. The third out of work manager in the betting reckoning is the recently sacked West Ham boss Gianfranco Zola, who is has been newly installed as a 10/1 chance. Zola again is another former Chelsea player, but would fit the profile of Fulham wanting a foreign coach.
Other names a bit further down the betting with Bet365 include Croatian coach Slaven Bilic and Huddersfield boss Lee Clark. Clark had a spell at Craven Cottage as a player and is doing well in the lower leagues as a young manager. The Geordie is a 20/1 chance to take the reigns at Fulham.
Whatever happens, Fulham seem pretty anxious to get a manager in place as soon as possible, so with all the newspaper rumours the betting market is likely to change a lot in the next 48 hours.
6/4 Sven Goran Eriksson
9/2 Dave Jones
13/2 Mark Hughes
8/1 Alan Curbishley
10/1 Gianfranco Zola
