Chelsea v West Ham Odds: Betting makes Blues hot favourites to pick up three points

Chelsea have been coming up on the rails in a late bid for the Premier League title and they are long odds on favourites to secure another win when they host West Ham at Stamford Bridge in Saturday's live late kick off. William Hill price Carlo Ancelotti's side 1/4 on, while West Ham have been woeful of late and are huge outsiders at 10/1, with the draw available at 5/1.

Carlo Ancelotti's side have cut Manchester United's lead at the top of the table to just six points after an impressive 3-1 win over Birmingham and they are suddenly looking the most likely contenders for the title. It has been an impressive turn around after suffering Champions League heartache at the hands of United and crucially they still have to face the league leaders before the end of the season.

First they need to secure three points against West Ham and they look well set to do that following a run of eight matches unbeaten in the league, during which they have won six. They are top of the league's form table for the last eight matches, although Fernando Torres continues to struggle to find the net as his drought extended to thirteen appearances. Could Saturday be the match for him to grab his debut goal? He is 11/4 to be first goalscorer with Hills and a return to form for him would be a huge boost to their title bid.

During Torres's goal drought, there have been some unsung heroes for Chelsea as Florent Malouda has scored three in three, including two against Birmingham, to take his season tally to twelve in the league. He has scored ten of those at home and looks tempting at odds of 9/2 to score first with WilliamHill.com.

Meanwhile, Salomon Kalou has scored two in two and can be backed at 6/5 to score anytime. The Chelsea team is close to full strength with Ashley Cole expected to be fit for the weekend, although Ramires and Alex are doubts.

West Ham are struggling in nineteenth and remain in the relegation zone they have occupied for much of the season. After a few results raised hope they have lost their last three in dismal fashion to Bolton, Man Utd and Aston Villa, and have been defensively woeful during that time. They have conceded nine goals in those matches and have kept just one clean sheet away from home all season.

Furthermore, ten of their sixteen away matches have involved over 2.5 goals and over 2.5 this weekend is 1/2 on with Hills. The match last season ended 4-1 to Chelsea and Avram Grant will be wary of another thrashing with a trip to Manchester City to come next .

Grant is without Junior Stanislas and will be hoping Demba Ba returns to form. The January signing scored four in his first four games but has failed to score in his last three, and he can be backed to return to form by scoring first at odds of 11/1 or by scoring anytime at 4/1.

It is difficult to see anything other than a Chelsea win and the odds of 10/1 for a correct score of 3-1 look very tempting when you consider Chelsea have won three of the last six by that margin and the leaky nature of West Ham's defence.
