Bolton v Arsenal Odds: In form Van Persie heads the betting to score first

Click here for the latest odds and betting preview for the Arsenal v Bolton match on Saturday 24th September 2011.

Nothing but a win will do for Arsenal when they visit the Reebok Stadium to take on Bolton in the live Sunday afternoon kick-off. Arsene Wenger's men have dropped too many points of late and now sit six points behind Man United at the top of the Premier League table. Paddy Power make them 3/4 on to pick up three points against Bolton, who were crushed in the FA Cup by Stoke last weekend and are priced 7/2, while the draw is available at 11/4.

Arsenal again threw away a winning position in their 3-3 draw with Tottenham in mid-week, the eighth time they have let a lead slip this term, and head to the Reebok Stadium knowing anything other than a win would most likely end their title hopes. They should certainly feel confident as they have won the last seven meetings with Bolton and are unbeaten in nine.

It is an unusual unbeaten run as Wenger's men are often criticised for failing to cope with Bolton's physical approach and they will no doubt draw comfort from having the best away record in the league. They have won eight and lost only two away from the Emirates this season and are unbeaten in their last seven. Over 2.5 goals could be worth a look at odds of 4/6 this weekend as Arsenal have only failed to score twice away from home and eleven of their sixteen away fixtures have witnessed over 2.5 goals.

Meanwhile, it is a surprise that the form of Robin Van Persie hasn't grabbed more headlines as the Dutchman has scored three in his last three and a brilliant thirteen in his last twelve in the league. PaddyPower.com offer industry best priced odds of 4/1 for Van Persie to score first and he can also be backed to score two or more in the match at 9/2.

Bolton meanwhile were crushed 5-0 by Stoke at Wembley in the FA Cup semi-final last weekend and it was a result that all but ended their season as they sit comfortably in eighth in the league table. They have lost two of their last three though and have failed to beat Arsenal since 2005.

Owen Coyle will need to rally his men and remind them that they have only lost twice at home all season and have only failed to score three times at the Reebok. The signing of Daniel Sturridge on loan from Chelsea has been inspired and he will return to the starting lineup after being cup-tied for the FA Cup match. Sturridge has notched six goals since joining Bolton and he looks to provide great value at 7/1 to score first or even as a 2/1 punt to score anytime.

Both Bolton and Arsenal appear to enjoy striking late as they have scored the highest proportion of their goals in the final 15 minutes of matches (Bolton 13, Arsenal 15) when dividing the time of their goals into 15 minute increments for the season. Although Bolton have also conceded the most in the last fifteen (14), so a look at the last goal on Sunday being scored after the 75th minute could be worthwhile at odds of 10/11 with PaddyPower.

We fancy Arsenal will get their title bid back on track this weekend and continue their fine run of form over Bolton, with the Arsenal win by a margin of two goals a tempting 4/1 with Paddy Power.
