West Ham welcome Championship side Burnley to the Boleyn Ground on Monday night in the last of the weekend's FA Cup fifth round ties. Premier League strugglers West Ham are the odds on favourites to win the match and set up a quarter-final tie away at Stoke City. Burnley are however in a good vein of form since new manager Eddie Howe's arrival last month and the 14/5 available on the away side from bookmaker Bet365 looks like a value bet. West Ham are 10/11 to win the match but with their minds on Premier League survival, a bet on the away side or Burnley to qualify at odds of 5/4 look the pick of the bets.
West Ham are struggling with consistency in their Premier League plight and remain in the bottom three of the top flight, despite a fine three goal fightback in their last game away at West Brom. In fact, Avram Grant's side have scored three goals in three out of their last four matches and goals are very much the theme of Monday's match bets. The last time the two teams met at Upton Park was in the Premier League last season, as the sides served up a thrilling 5-3 win to West Ham. The Hammers haven't kept a clean sheet in eight matches and are sweating on the fitness of Matt Upson and James Tompkins in the centre of defence. There could be another goal-fest at Upton Park on Monday night and by dutching the correct scores 3-2, 3-3 and 2-3 at odds of 25/1, 50/1 and 33/1 with Bet 365 respectively, there's some big prices.
Burnley have been on a good run of form since the arrival of former AFC Bournemouth manager Eddie Howe last month. With just one defeat in their last seven matches, Burnely have propelled themselves back into play-off contention in the Championship and the trip to East-London on Monday night shouldn't hold too much fear. Midfielder Chris Eagles scored twice in the 3-1 home win over Burton Albion in the last round and also scored in the win over Port Vale in the 3rd round. At odds of 12/1 to score first, Eagles is a decent each-way bet to have.
Jay Rodriguez is another who looks to have a bit of value about his odds in the first goalscorer market. Rodriguez was named the player of the month for January in the Championship and has been rewarded with a new contract at Turf Moor. Bet365 make the youngster 17/2 to score first on Monday.
