Wolves v Swansea Odds: Back an early goal in the betting at Molineux

Even at this early stage of the season the Wolves v Swansea match on Saturday lunchtime has an important look to it. Wolves have been in a woeful run of form in the Premier League but start as evens favourites at Molineux with William Hill, while Swansea are yet to pick up a point away from home and are priced 11/4, with the draw available at a tempting 23/10.

Mick McCarthy's Wolves have now lost their last five matches in a row and have failed to win in their last six. That dismal run has seen them slide to sixteenth in the league table and it was compounded by their 2-0 defeat to bitter rivals West Brom last weekend.

McCarthy has a job on his hands to reverse that run of form and Wolves certainly have a decent record against the Swans - winning five and losing only one of their last seven meetings with the Welsh side.

Wolves have only managed to score two goals in their last six matches though, with Steve Fletcher scoring both of them, but they do come up against a Swansea side that are yet to keep a clean sheet away from home this term. Both teams to score on Saturday is 3/4 on, while Fletcher is 11/2 favourite to score first.

However, Wolves have conceded first in three quarters of their league matches and have conceded four in the opening 15 minutes of matches. Meanwhile, three of Swansea's last four matches have involved goals in the first 15 minutes and the odds of the first goal on Saturday being scored between 0-15 minutes looks great value at odds of 11/5 with WilliamHill.com.

Danny Graham might fancy his chances of grabbing the first goal as he has scored two goals in his last two outings and he is 15/2 in the first scorer market.

We fancy Saturday's game could certainly involved a few goals as three of Swansea's away matches have involved over 2.5 goals, with over 2.5 19/20 on with Hills this weekend.

Swansea may be thirteenth in the Premier League but they are yet to pick up an away win in the league as they have suffered four successive defeats on the road. They have had to travel to Man City, Arsenal and Chelsea during that time though and Brendan Rodgers' side will fancy their chances at Molineux.

Rodgers will again have to do without the services of Craig Beattie and Steve Caulker as they look for their first away point in the top flight. Wolves have only won one of three at Molineux this season and the draw at 23/10 could be the way to go as both sides cancel each other out.
