Spain U21 v Belarus U21 Odds: Back Adrian in the first scorer betting

Pre-tournament favourites Spain have progressed serenely into the semi-finals of the European Under 21 Championships and they are odds on to secure a place in Saturday's final. First they must overcome Belarus in Wednesday's last four match at the Viborg Stadium in Denmark and Bet 365 make them 1/4 favourites to win the match, with Belarus priced 9/1 and the draw 4/1.

Spain were held to a draw in their opening group match with England when in reality they should have won by a big margin, but they made sure there were no slip ups in their next two matches as they comfortably overcame Ukraine 3-0 and Czech Republic 2-0 to top Group B.

Chief destroyer in those latter two games was Deportivo's striker Adrian Lopez. The young star is the tournament's top scorer with three goals and he looks very tempting at an industry best of 15/4 to be first goalscorer on Wednesday. Furthermore, the scorecast of Adrian to score first and Spain to win 2-0 could pay dividends at odds of 14/1.

Away from Lopez, Valencia's Juan Mata is probably the most well known and experienced player in the tournament and he certainly didn't disappoint as he notched two goals against Ukraine. He too could be worth a look in the goalscorer markets and he is 9/2 to score first or 11/10 to score anytime with B365.

A Spain goal certainly looks worth backing as they have scored in each of their last twelve matches, while they have led at half time in their last four. With that in mind it could be a decent punt to back Spain to win both halves on Wednesday at odds of 5/4.

The Spaniards have been equally impressive defensively as they have kept two clean sheets in a row and have only conceded more than one goal in a match once in twelve. Spain to win to nil can be backed at odds of 4/5 and only Spain to score in the match is available at the same price, and those look even better when you consider the Belarus side they are up against.

Belarus only qualified from Group A by having beaten Iceland 2-0 as they finished joint second with Denmark and Iceland on the same points and level on goal difference and goal scored. Their 2-0 win against Iceland saw them through, although that victory was their sole success in their last six matches.

During that time they have failed to score in four and have kept just one clean sheet, which makes the odds of Spain keeping them out even more tempting. An additional market that could be worth consideration is the under 2.5 goals in the match at odds of 6/5 with Bet365.com.

If Belarus are to score, then the main threat could well come from Andrei Voronkov, who has scored two goals in eight appearances and is a 14/1 punt to score first.

Ultimately though Spain should cruise through to the finals and the correct score of 2-0 is available at 9/2 as Spain look to show their next generation are well capable of matching their world champion elders.
