There is live Premier League football from the St Mary's Stadium on Monday night as Southampton welcome Everton to their South Coast home. The Saints have been enjoying some rejuvenated form of late as they came from two goals down to draw at Chelsea in mid-week but the sacking of Nigel Adkins, with Maurico Pochettino coming in to replace him, has really thrown the cat among the pigeons.

That result makes the sacking of Adkins all the more bizarre and it remains to be seen what effect his departure and the arrival of Pochettino has on the side.
They had lost only one of their last six, drawing four, and they are unbeaten in their last five league games. They remain defensively suspect though as they have kept just one clean sheet in seven, with that coming against a goal-shy Aston Villa. That defensive frailty should add to a potentially entertaining Southampton v Everton match on Monday night and both teams to score is 8/13 odds on.
Eighteen of Everton's last 19 matches in all competitions have seen both teams score following their 0-0 draw at home to Swansea last weekend. David Moyes' side were unlucky not to win that match but they remain in the mix for a top-four place after losing just one of their last 11, drawing five.
They have scored at least one goal in 91% of away league matches this term and Leighton Baines has emerged as an unlikely goalscoring hero. The left back has scored two in his last three and he remains a real threat from set-pieces, with Ladbrokes offering a tempting 14/1 he scores first at St Mary's.
Baines can contribute to an important Everton win as they look to reaffirm their credentials as a top-four club. They can take full advantage of the pantomime that has engulfed St Mary’s during the last few days and how Southampton’s players react to the sacking of the popular Adkins could have an adverse effect on this game and indeed the rest of their season.
