Back West Ham To Edge To A Narrow Win Over Brighton On Friday Night

The joy of Friday night Premier League football returns with West Ham v Brighton at the Olympic Stadium and it is the Hammers who are worthy favourites for a valuable three points that would propel them into the top-half of the table and ease the pressure on manager Slaven Bilic...

  • Brighton have failed to score in three of their four away league games - Drawn One, Lost Three
  • West Ham have won each of their last three meetings with Brighton (Scored 10, Conceded 0), although this is their first clash since 2012

The Match Betting

Bilic's position at the helm remains precarious but there were mitigating circumstances to the Hammers' poor start to the campaign as they had to play three away games and they have since recovered to lose only one of their past five, with that sole defeat coming against Tottenham.

It is telling that both of West Ham's wins in the Premier League this season have come at the Olympic Stadium as they beat Huddersfield 2-0 and Swansea 1-0. It looks as if the London side are capable of getting the job done against the lesser sides in the division and they are a solid 10/11 for a win on Friday (Bet 365).

Brighton may boast an identical record to West Ham at this stage (won two, drawn two, lost four) but their away record is poor and we fancy they will struggle.
Match Odds:

Win To Nil

Brighton have drawn one and lost three of their four league games on the road, with that sole point coming in a 0-0 draw when Watford were reduced to ten men for much of the match, and the Seagulls have failed to score in three of those.

The West Ham win to nil (15/8 with B365) is well worth a look as Brighton are desperately short of options in attack, with Tomer Hemed still suspended, while they are also without the injured Shane Duffy and Davy Propper for Friday.

West Ham also have selection issues as James Collins is a doubt, while Javier Hernandez is definitely out through injury and Andy Carroll is suspended.

The hosts should still have enough about them to secure a win and it wouldn't be a surprise to see them edge to a 1-0 (11/2 with Bet365.com) or 2-0 victory (15/2 with Bet 365).
