Huddersfield v Brentford Odds: Jordan Rhodes hot favourite to score first

The live late afternoon match on Saturday is a League One affair as Huddersfield welcome Brentford to the Galpharm Stadium. It has been a fixture that has traditionally produced goals and Huddersfield start as 4/6 favourites in the match odds, while Bet 365 go a best priced 11/4 on the draw and 4/1 on a Brentford win.

When the two teams met last May they played out a thrilling 4-4 draw and Huddersfield have since thumped Brentford 4-0 back in October. There is sure to be plenty of interest in the over/under markets this weekend and over 2.5 goals is 4/5 on, while it could be worth a look at over 3.5 goals for a bit more value at odds of 2/1.

Huddersfield are renowned for being a prolific team and they have put themselves right in the promotion mix once again. They missed out to Peterborough in the play-off final last year but they will want to go up to the Championship automatically this time, with Lee Clark's men currently third in League One and on a decent run of form.

They are unbeaten in their last six and have lost just once at home all season, while they have only failed to score in one game at Galpharm Stadium. Jordan Rhodes has been a major reason for that scoring stat as he has scored 27 goals this season, including twelve in his last six outings. Rhodes scored two in the 4-0 win over Brentford in October and he can be backed at industry best priced odds of 3/1 to be first goalscorer.

Huddersfield have scored first in over three quarters of their matches this season and they come up against a Brentford side who have conceded first in their last four, with B365 going 4/9 that the home side score first.

Interestingly, eight of the last eleven goals in Huddersfield's matches have come in the second half and the second half to be the highest scoring half on Saturday can be backed at 21/20. Furthermore, it could be worth a look at the double result of a half time draw and full time Huddersfield win at 10/3 with Bet365.com.

Brentford head to Huddersfield on the back of a six game winless run and they face a real challenge to come away with anything. They have only won one of their last eight away matches and that run of form has seen them drop to eighth, four points outside of the play-offs.

They do possess a goalscoring threat though as they have only failed to score three times away from home and both teams to score can be backed at 4/5. Gary Alexander has been in fine form with five from his last seven and he could be worth an each-way look to be first scorer at a best priced 9/1 with Bet 365.

Brentford have only won one of their last five against Huddersfield though and we fancy the home side to take three points again, with Jordan Rhodes likely to be a central figure.
