Celtic v Sion Odds: Back Neil Lennon's side to win to nil at Parkhead

Celtic will look to continue their fine winning run when they take on FC Sion in the first leg of their Europa League qualifier on Thursday night. Neil Lennon's side start as 4/9 favourites to win the match at Parkhead and extend their winning run to eight matches (including last season), while the relatively unknown Sion are available at a juicy 6/1, with William Hill offering 17/5 for the draw.

The Scottish side are certainly well fancied to progress to the group stages of the Europa League as they are 2/7 odds on to qualify from the tie, while Sion are embroiled in controversy before the match has even begun and are 5/2 to qualify.

Sion have courted controversy by including five players in their squad who are ineligible according to FIFA. The case has gone to court, with the ruling on whether the players are ineligible not due to be declared until after the second leg of this tie and there is a very real prospect that Sion could be forced to forfeit the tie!

It has been a much more serene build-up to the match for Celtic and there was good news when Fraser Forster rejoined the club on loan from Newcastle. The goalkeeper goes straight into the squad for Thursday night, although Glenn Loovens, Emilio Izaguirre, Beram Kayal and Gary Hooper are likely to miss out through injury.

Forster could well mark his 'debut' for the club with a clean sheet, particularly as Celtic have kept clean sheets in six of their last seven matches. They have won all seven of those matches and have started this season much the same way they finished last in the Scottish Premier League.

Only Dundee United have breached the Celtic defence during that time and that was a consolation goal in the 5-1 defeat to Celtic recently. The Celtic clean sheet is currently a tempting 10/11 on against Sion, while for a touch more value the Celtic win to nil could be worth backing at 11/8 with Hills.

Celtic certainly look capable of beating the Swiss side and Anthony Stokes arrives in fine form after scoring three goals in three appearances so far this season, and Stokes looks a good punt to be first goalscorer at odds of 4/1 with WilliamHill.com.

However, they must be wary of a Sion side that are currently fourth in the Swiss Super League, four points behind leaders FC Thun. The biggest threat could well come from an unlikely source as defender Vilos Vanczak has been on the goal trail lately. Vanczak has scored four goals in his last three appearances and he looks a tempting each-way bet at 16/1 to be first scorer.

Sion finished fourth in the Swiss League last season to qualify for the Europa League, but during that time they managed to win only six times in eighteen away matches. Celtic should earn a comfortable first leg advantage as they have won six of their last seven matches by at least a two goal margin. The Scottish side look good value to continue their winning run this week, with Hills offering a Celtic win with a handicap of -1 goal at odds of 11/10.
