Newcastle v Man Utd Odds: Betting makes Reds favourites to return to form with a win

The treble dream may be over for Manchester United but they will look to bounce back with a Premier League win against Newcastle at St James' Park on Tuesday night. The 1-0 FA Cup defeat to Man City on Saturday ended hopes of emulating the treble winners of 1999 but they are 4/6 odds on favourites with Bet 365 to win on Tuesday, while Newcastle are an industry best of 9/2, and the draw is a 13/5 punt.

United will want to bounce back quickly and their mood will have been brightened by Arsenal's failure to beat Liverpool at the weekend, which has strengthened their position at the top of the table as they lead by six points in their bid for a record nineteenth Premier League title.

Tenth placed Newcastle are six points above relegation after their 1-0 loss to Aston Villa last time out and manager Alan Pardew has vowed to attack United on Tuesday. He welcomes back Shola Ameobi and Stephen Ireland from injury, and Ameobi was influential in his last appearance in the 4-1 win over Wolves. Ameobi scored that day and is 17/2 to score first or a tempting 13/5 to score anytime this week, although the loss of top scorer and captain Kevin Nolan is a huge blow.

Newcastle look to face an uphill task as they haven't beaten United at home since 2001 and their recent form has been poor - with just two wins from twelve in all competitions and just two wins in seven in the league at home.
