Chelsea v Man City Odds: Ancelotti's side hot favourites in the Stamford Bridge betting

Troubled Manchester City travel to Chelsea for the live Sunday afternoon kick off in what could be a pivotal match for both sides' Premier League seasons. Ladbrokes make Chelsea odds on 4/6 favourites for the match at Stamford Bridge and they can go above City to third in the table with a win, while City can be backed at 9/2 and the draw comes in at 5/2.

City crashed out of the Europa League on Thursday after they failed to overturn a 2-0 first leg deficit against Dynamo Kiev and their cause wasn't helped by the controversial figure of Mario Balotelli. The striker has created plenty of problems since his arrival and his sending off on Thursday has led Roberto Mancini to suggest he is unlikely to be in the squad for Sunday's match.

Thankfully for Mancini, Carlos Tevez has proven to be a more reliable figure for his side and he boasts a fine record of six goals in his last five against Chelsea, including goals in each of his last three. Tevez has scored the first goal in matches eight times this term, more than any other Premier League player, and he can be backed at odds of 6/1 to score first with Ladbrokes although he has failed to score in his last seven matches in all competitions.

James Milner, Shay Given and Adam Johnson are all out injured this weekend as City look to improve on a record of just two goals in their last 11 trips to Stamford Bridge. The Chelsea win to nil is available at odds of 6/4 as they look to mount an unlikely late bid for the title.

Chelsea take on Man United in the last eight of the Champions League after they ensured progress with a 0-0 draw against Copenhagen and they will be boosted by winning their last two league matches - against United and Blackpool. Frank Lampard has been instrumental in their recent return to form with four goals in five matches and he is a tempting 6/1 to be first goalscorer or 7/4 to score anytime.

Fernando Torres continues to struggle for goals though as he has now gone seven matches without a goal, which is his worst drought in English football. He is still favourite to score first though and can be backed at odds of 4/1 with Ladbrokes.com. Chelsea are boosted by the return to fitness of Yossi Benayoun and Alex as well.

Carlo Ancelotti's men still retain an outside hope of winning the Premier League as they have a game in hand over Man Utd and they look good for a win against a City side that realistically only have the FA Cup left as a chance of silverware this term. Furthermore, City have only won once in their last eight matches and the 2-1 correct score is a 7/1 punt and it could well be a close game with Ladbrokes pricing the Chelsea win by one goal at odds of 5/2.
