Wolves v Birmingham Odds: Back Marlon King in the first scorer betting

Wolves take on Birmingham in their live FA Cup third round replay at Molineux on Wednesday night and everyone will be hoping it is a more entertaining affair than the first match. The pair played out a drab goalless draw at St Andrews and Wolves go into this match as evens favourites, while Birmingham can be backed at 11/4 with Paddy Power.

The first offering between these two was a dismal affair and we fancy it could be worth a look at another stalemate, with the draw priced 12/5. Birmingham can be backed at industry best priced odds of 13/8 to qualify for the fourth round though, where Sheffield United lie in wait, and that could be worth backing as Wolves could rest players.

Mick McCarthy's main aim is to avoid Premier League relegation this term and he has hinted that top scorer Steven Fletcher could be rested this week. That means Sylvan Ebanks-Blake could get a chance to impress and he is 11/2 to score first after notching just three goals this season.

Wolves head into the game on the back of a hugely creditable 1-1 draw at Tottenham from the weekend but it was a result that extends their winless run to eight matches and it will be a huge concern ahead of a match against their Midlands rivals. They have kept just one clean sheet in their last eighteen outings, against Birmingham last weekend, and the Blues arrive at Molineux in hot scoring form.

Chris Hughton's men humbled Millwall 6-0 at the weekend and Marlon King was excellent as he continues his resurgent form. King has now scored four in his last four outings to take his tally to eleven for the season and he looks great value to be first goalscorer at 7/1 with PaddyPower.

Birmingham could well provide late drama at Molineux as they have scored in the 89th minute or later in four of their last five matches, while they have scored 17 times in the last 15 minutes in the Championship this season. Paddy Power go evens for the last goal of Wednesday's match to be scored after the 71st minute.

Despite Birmingham's rediscovered scoring touch, four of Wolves' last five matches have involved under 2.5 goals and under 2.5 is 4/6 on this week. They face a tough task against a Birmingham side that has kept three clean sheets in their last five though and we fancy the Blues to progress.

Birmingham are unbeaten in six matches and the score draw after 90 minutes can be backed at 10/3 with PaddyPower.com. The match could well go beyond normal time and Birmingham are 11/1 to qualify in extra time and 10/1 to qualify in a penalty shoot out.

The Blues have only lost two of their last ten FA Cup away matches and they have lost just one of the last six meetings against Wolves, with the odds of them extending those decent records looking good value.
