Man City v Arsenal Betting: Back Van Persie to score last

The highlight of the weekend's live Premier League action is undoubtedly the late Sunday afternoon match between Manchester City and Arsenal at the Etihad Stadium. The home side and title hopefuls start the match as 4/6 favourites in the betting, while Arsenal are a best priced 9/2 with Paddy Power, although the draw could be a decent punt at 13/5.

Arsenal have a fine record at City as they have won nine of the fourteen league matches in Manchester and the double chance market could offer some value with the Arsenal win or draw available at 11/10.

City will be looking to bounce back quickly after they threw away a 1-0 lead to lose 2-1 at Chelsea earlier in the week. They have now dropped seven points from winning positions this term and they are 12/5 to score first and fail to win this weekend.

Roberto Mancini's men have scored first in all seven of their home matches this season and Mario Balotelli could be worth a look at 5/1 in the first scorer betting. Paddy Power are offering to refund all losing first scorer, last scorer, correct score or scorecast single bets if Balotelli or Robin Van Persie score the last goal of Sunday's match.

Arsenal's Van Persie has scored the last goal in three of Arsenal's last four games and he has now scored 33 goals in 32 league games during 2011. The Dutchman is closing in on Alan Shearer's record of 36 goals in a calendar year and has scored 18 goals in his last 16 away games, with PaddyPower.com going 11/2 that he scores last against City.

Goals certainly look to be on the menu as City have scored in every league game this term, although they have failed to keep a clean sheet in their last eight. They have scored 24 goals in seven league matches at the Etihad Stadium and over 2.5 goals is 4/7 on.

City have been formidable at home as they have won seven from seven this season and twelve in a row at the Etihad including last term. They have taken 49 points from a possible 51 at their home stadium but they must do without the suspended Gael Clichy and injured Micah Richards, which could disrupt their defence.

Arsenal boast the best form in the league during the past eight games as they have taken 22 points and won their last three away fixtures. We fancy they could cause something of an upset here and they could cause some late heartache for City as Arsenal have scored in the 88th minute three times in the last four Man City v Arsenal meetings.

Paddy Power go 10/11 for the last goal of Sunday's match to be scored after the 75th minute, while the score draw is available at 7/2. Bearing in mind PaddyPower's money back special, a punt on the correct score of 1-1 looks decent value at 13/2.
