Rangers v PSV Betting: Dutch side favourites and need just a score draw to qualify

The last sixteen Europa League clash between Rangers and PSV Eindhoven is delicately poised after a goalless draw in the first leg in Holland. It is all to play for in the second leg at Ibrox on Thursday night and PSV go in as marginal favourites to win the match at 9/5 in the betting with Totesport. Rangers can be backed to win at 9/5, with the draw a tempting 23/10 and PSV only need a draw and an away goal to go qualify after 90 minutes.

PSV are slight favourites to qualify for the quarter-finals at 4/7 with Tote and Rangers are a 5/4 bet, and that is unsurprising as the Scottish side will be walking a tight rope in trying not to concede a crucial away goal.

Both sides needed late goals in their domestic fixtures at the weekend to rescue points as Rangers scored an 87th minute winner to beat Kilmarnock 2-1 and increase the pressure on Celtic at the top of the SPL, while PSV needed a last minute equaliser to draw 2-2 with NEC to stay top of the Eredivisie.

Rangers have been further boosted by the news that Steven Naismith is fit after missing the first leg and he is a decent punt at 11/4 to score anytime with Totesport as he looks to add to his tally of 10 goals for the season. However, Rangers will have to cope without the cup tied Nikica Jelavic once again as they look to extend their unbeaten record at home to ten matches.

The Scottish side have failed to win in seven matches in Europe, including the Champions League, and go up against a PSV team that are unbeaten in ten matches in the Europa League. The Dutch side haven't won against Rangers in the last five meetings, the last fixture at Ibrox saw a 4-1 Rangers win in 1999, but it is difficult to see Rangers keeping out a side that has so much goalscoring power.

They have scored in their last eight away from home in the Europa League and have scored at least two in each of their last four away, so betting on both teams to score at 4/5 could be worth a look with Totesport.com. Midfielder Balazs Dzsudzsak has scored six goals in his last eight and at 7/1 in the betting to be first goalscorer he looks good value, or he can be backed to score anytime at 2/1.

PSV's record of having never won in Scotland could continue but we fancy they could well earn a draw at Ibrox and the 1-1 correct score is available at 11/2 with Tote. That scoreline would be enough to send PSV through to the quarter-finals on away goals and the double result of a half time and full time draw could be a decent punt at 7/2.
