Portugal v Bosnia Odds: Herzegovina could upset the betting

There is all still all to play for in the Euro 2012 play-off second leg between Portugal and Bosnia at the Estadio do SL Benfica in Lisbon on Tuesday night. The two teams played out a 0-0 stalemate in the first leg and Portugal go in as 2/5 favourites to pick up a win at home, while Bosnia are 15/2, with the draw priced a tempting 10/3 by Bet 365.

Bet 365 are streaming the match live on their website on Tuesday night and it promises to be a tense and tight affair in Portugal. The two teams struggled to get any sort of fluency in the first match on a poor pitch in Zenica but expect Lisbon to provide a more intriguing contest.

Portugal are 2/7 odds on to qualify for Euro 2012 but Bosnia could be worth backing to cause an upset at a tempting 5/2.

The Portuguese were the better side on Friday but they have shown a tendency to choke. They lost 2-1 to Denmark in the group stages when victory would have secured them automatic qualification, while Bosnia have shown an appetite for the big occasion, not least when they were unlucky to only draw 1-1 with France in their final group match.

Furthermore, Bosnia welcome back key men Sasa Papac and Boris Pandza to help shore up an already fine defence, although Mensur Mujdza is an injury doubt and Seja Salihovic is suspended.

Bosnia are unbeaten in their last seven matches and it is a run that has been based on strong defensive foundations. They have conceded only one goal in their last seven and they are 5/1 to keep a clean sheet against Portugal. It may be asking a lot to keep out Cristiano Ronaldo and co for a second time but we fancy they could nick a crucial away goal.

Edin Dzeko will again lead the line after scoring eight goals in his last eight for club and country, with Bet365.com pricing him 11/1 to score first on Tuesday. Dzeko is a tempting 6/1 to score Bosnia's first goal, a feat he has achieved twice in Bosnia's last three fixtures.

Six of Bosnia's last seven matches have involved under 2.5 goals and under 2.5 is 3/4 on this week. Portugal may boast plenty of attacking talent, with four of their last five involving over 2.5, but expect Tuesday's match to be a tight and nervy contest.

Cristiano Ronaldo has been criticised for failing to transfer his club form to the international stage, although he is 12/5 favourite to score first after scoring eight in his last five for Real Madrid.

Portugal may be unbeaten in their last nineteen at home but all of the pressure is on them this week and we fancy Bosnia could be a decent punt to grab an away goal and crank up the pressure. The correct score of 1-1 after 90 minutes is available at 15/2, while the more conservative punt of a score draw can be backed at 11/2 with Bet 365.
