Czech Republic took firm control of their Euro 2012 play-off tie with Montenegro by securing a 2-0 home win on Friday. They are now 1/33 on to qualify for Ukraine and Poland next summer, although Montenegro could be worth a look to win the second leg at the Stadion Pod Goricom, with William Hill offering an industry best price of 13/8 in the match betting on Tuesday night.
Hills are streaming the match live on their website and they make Czech Republic slight outsiders at 17/10 in the match betting, with the draw priced 11/5, although Montenegro have it all to do to as they are 10/1 to qualify for Euro 2012.
If they concede a goal on Tuesday night it would mean that they need to score four and that looks a big ask. They have vowed to go out and attack though and an entertaining affair could be in store, with over 2.5 goals in the match looking a good bet at 11/10.
Montenegro have conceded at least two goals in each of their last five matches, while five of the Czech Republic's last six away matches have involved over 2.5 goals. Montenegro may be without a win in six matches but they have done well to get this far as they bid to reach the finals of a major tournament for the first time in their history. The concern for Montenegro will be the fact that Milan Jovanovic is suspended and Marko Basa is out injured, which leaves them short defensively. They conceded an injury time goal agaisns Czech Republic, which looks crucial in the context of this tie.
Interestingly, 15 of the past 21 goals in Montenegro's matches have now been scored in the second half and the second half to be the highest scoring half on Tuesday looks a decent punt at 21/20. Meanwhile, over 1.5 goals in the second half could be worth backing at 13/10 with Hills.
The Czech Republic have reached the finals of every European Championship since its inception in 1993 and there was good news as Milan Baros and Tomas Rosicky are fit, although Tomas Hubschman is still suspended. They look to have done the hard work by winning the home leg to nil, but a few nerves can be expected in the second leg on Tuesday.
Czech Republic have won only two of their last eight away matches and we fancy Montenegro to win the match but the 2-0 scoreline from the first leg has surely left them with too much to do in their bid to qualify for Euro 2012.
