It has a Non League feel to it, but two recent additions to the Football League will be looking to venture another rung up the league ladder, as Stevenage and Accrington meet in the League Two play-off semi-final.
Graham Westley's Stevenage side secured their play-off place with a thrilling 3-3 draw at home to already-promoted Bury. Now, Westley will be looking for his Borough side to use that as a stepping stone to Old Trafford, where the winner of this two-legged tie will play Shrewsbury or Torquay.
With home advantage Stevenage are put in as clear favourites at 11/10 with Victor Chandler, whilst Stanley are best-priced 14/5 with the same firm, with the draw available at 12/5.
Accrington soared into the play-offs with aplomb and go to the Lamex Stadium unbeaten in 13 games. A draw against Burton secured their spot in the play-offs and boss John Coleman will want them to continue their impressive streak. In the two league meetings this season Accrington notched up a narrow 1-0 win at home, whilst two very late goals handed them a 2-2 draw at Stevenage.
At 11/10 Stevenage appear to be extremely short but having not lost at home in five games will be difficult to break down and the value bet has to be about parity and Victor Chandler's 12/5 is the eye-catcher.
The first goalscorer is extremely wide open with Victor Chandler going 17/4 the field with Craig Reid heading the betting. A quartet of players then sit on 5/1 including Stanley's top scorer Terry Gornell and Borough's leading striker Byron Harrison. However, the one that catches the eye is Sean McConville, who at 7/1 marks excellent value. An integral cog of their promotion push, McConville sits pretty at the top of the goalscorer standings with Gornell on 13 and the 22-year-old can drive his team on by notching the first goal of the contest.
Play-offs can be forever cagey affairs with both sides just looking to give themselves a chance in the second leg. However, Accrington have been deadly in front of goal of late bagging 20 goals in their last 10 games. Combine that with Borough's 18 goals in their last 10 matches, it should be destined for a free-scoring affair and Victor Chandler's 16/1 about a 2-2 draw appears to be the stand-out bet.
With both sides looking to stay in the contest, they will want to stay on the opposition's coat-tails and not get too far behind in the game, so Victor Chandler's 17/4 about a draw at half-time and draw at full-time looks to be another of interest.
