AC Milan v Tottenham Odds: Ibrahimovic hot favourite to score first in the San Siro betting

Tottenham's injury problems have dominated the build up to their Champions League last 16 clash with AC Milan on Tuesday night as they return to the scene of their famous 4-3 defeat by Milan's bitter rivals Inter. Gareth Bale's failure to recover from a back injury is seen as a huge blow for a team that head to the San Siro as underdogs at odds of 4/1 with Bet 365, and favourites AC Milan, at 7/10, will be keen to take full advantage.

The last time Spurs played at the San Siro, back in October, they were 4-0 down to Inter Milan at half time and Heurelho Gomes was sent off before a Gareth Bale hat trick almost inspired one of the great comebacks. There are also doubts over the fitness of Peter Crouch and Luka Modric for Tuesday night, so Harry Redknapp is likely to risk Rafael Van Der Vaart and the Dutchman can be backed to score first at odds of 15/2 with B365 or 9/4 to score anytime as he looks to add to his tally of 12 goals this term.

Their opponents AC Milan top Serie A and the 2007 Champions League winners warmed up for this match with a 4-0 win over Parma at the weekend. They too have selection problems as new signings Antonio Cassano, Urby Emanuelson and Mark Van Bommel are ineligible, while Massimo Ambrosini and Andrea Pirlo are injured.

They can still call on an attacking trio of Zlatan Ibrahimovic, Pato and Robinho though, and the Swede Ibrahimovic is hot favourite to score first with Bet365.com at odds of 11/4. And it is unsurprising as he has notched 17 goals already this season, including four in the Champions League, and AC Milan have scored first in five of their last six in Serie A.

Spurs will be mindful of not getting off to another horrendous start as they did last time at the San Siro and we fancy they will earn a result that keeps this tie alive for the second leg at White Hart Lane.
