Fulham will look to confirm their qualification from Europa League Group K when they play Odense at Craven Cottage on Wednesday night. Martin Jol's men need to win to make sure of their place in the knockout stages and they are 1/4 odds on to win according to William Hill, while Odense are 14/1 to cause an upset.
Fulham currently sit second in Group K on seven points, just one point ahead of Wisla in third and six points behind FC Twente at the top of the group. Odense have only pride to play for as they sit bottom of the group with no hope of qualifying.
The trouble for Martin Jol's side has been their recent form as they are struggling in fourteenth place in the Premier League and we fancy the look of a the double result of a half time draw and full time Fulham win at 11/4. Odense could prove tough to break down and it isn't immediately obvious where goals are going to come from for Fulham.
Andy Johnson is suspended after his red card in the 1-0 defeat to FC Twente last time, while Bobby Zamora is rumoured to be leaving the club in January. Bryan Ruiz is cup-tied and Danny Murphy, Damien Duff and Steve Sidwell are all injury doubts. It leaves Clint Dempsey as the obvious choice of scorer after scoring six so far this season and he is available at 7/2 to score first with William Hill.
Fulham's difficulty in scoring goals is highlighted by the fact their last five games have all involved under 2.5 goals and under 2.5 looks a decent punt at 6/5 this week. Late goals have been a feature of Fulham's recent matches as well, with their last four matches involving four goals in the last ten minutes and WilliamHill.com offer 23/20 for the last goal of Wednesday's match to be scored between the 81st minute and full time.
In contrast, Danish side Odense have been free scoring of late as they have scored seven goals in their last three away matches and their last six European away games have witnessed 31 goals. It could be worth a punt on both teams to score at odds of 6/4 with Hills and Odense have plenty of players in form.
Peter Utaka has nine goals for the season and he is 12/1 to be first goalscorer, while midfielder Bashkim Kadri scored a hat trick in the 4-0 win over Sonderjyske last week and he is available at juicy, industry best odds of 25/1 to score first - which could be worth an each-way look at least
However, Odense are winless in their last seven matches at English teams, drawing only two, while Fulham look worthy of their odds on price at home. The English side are unbeaten in 22 European matches at Craven Cottage and their European adventure - they are the only team left in the competition who competed in the first qualifying round - looks set to continue, with the correct score of 2-0 available at 5/1.
