Chelsea will look to maintain the pressure on Manchester United at the top of the Premier League table by beating Everton at Stamford Bridge in Saturday's late kick off. Chelsea start as 1/3 odds on favourites, but Everton have a fine record against the London outfit and have drawn the last five at the Bridge with the draw priced 15/4 and the Everton win a big 9/1 with Paddy Power.
Under Andre Villas-Boas, Chelsea have been vibrant during their rise to third in the league this season and only an unfortunate to defeat to Man United has tarnished their unbeaten record. There have been goals galore in their recent matches as they thumped Swansea 4-1 and Bolton 5-1.
Those two wins mean that Chelsea's last six league matches have involved over 2.5 goals and over 2.5 is 4/6 on this weekend. Frank Lampard has found his scoring touch of late, notching a hat trick against Bolton to make it four goals in two matches and he is 11/2 to score first.
However, it is Didier Drogba who is 7/2 favourite to be first goal scorer and he looks a very decent punt as he loves playing against Everton - he has scored seven goals in his last nine appearances against them. Drogba is likely to be given his chance up front as Fernando Torres is suspended, while Michael Essien is the only injury absentee.
The concern for Chelsea will be the fact that they have kept just one clean sheet in the league this season and Everton will be confident of breaching a shaky Chelsea backline. Both teams to score is priced evens by PaddyPower.com and one Everton player in particular is worth looking out for in the scorer markets.
Louis Saha is fit again and he has notched five goals in six appearances against Chelsea, with Paddy Power offering a healthy 10/1 for the Frenchman to score first.
Meanwhile, the odds for a penalty to be missed in Saturday's match look good at 8/1 as Tim Howard has only conceded two goals from the last seven penalties he has faced, saving four, while Chelsea are 10/1 to miss a penalty.
Everton manager David Moyes is without Victor Anichebe as his side look to continue a fine run of form against Chelsea. Chelsea have failed to beat Everton since May 2009 and six of the last nine Chelsea v Everton meetings have ended in draws.
However, Everton have failed to win in the last sixteen matches at Stamford Bridge and they have failed to win on their last eight visits to London sides. We fancy that Chelsea's home form should see them pick up a first win over Everton in two years and the correct score of 3-1 looks particularly good value at odds of 12/1.
