Brazil v Ecuador Odds: Brazilians hot favourites for must win match

In the final game of Group B, Ecuador face Brazil at the Mario Alberto Kempes Stadium in the Copa America on Wednesday night live on Unibet TV.

This Copa America campaign hasn’t gone so smoothly for the Brazilians so far and they currently find themselves with just two points from two games and needing a win in their final group game to get to the quarter-finals. In their opener they played out a lacklustre draw with Venezuela and then needed a late goal against Paraguay to earn themselves a draw at the weekend. The team are under pressure to get a result on Wednesday, but the bookmakers have still installed them as clear favourites at 1/4 for the match.

Ecuador are winless in this year’s competition and it looks like they will be heading home after their final group game. Their first result was a decent performance against Paraguay where they earned a 0-0 draw, but then they lost out to Venezuela 1-0 in their second game and now must beat Brazil to have a chance of reaching the knockout stages. The bookies certainly don’t believe they have much hope of pulling off a shock result on Wednesday and they are priced at 11/1 with Unibet.com to get the victory.

This certainly isn’t a vintage Brazil side in that they don't play the free-flowing, high-scoring football of past national sides but they should have enough to get the win against Ecuador. Brazil haven’t scored in four of their last seven games but their attack was much more potent against Paraguay on Saturday and they will be confident they can get a couple of goals on Wednesday.

Ecuador will find it hard to break down a Brazilian defence that has conceded just two goals in its last five games but they are capable of keeping the match tight. They have drawn five of their last six matches - including a 2-2 result with Argentina back in April – and they will be hoping they can frustrate Brazil and then try a snatch a goal on the counter-attack.

Taking match odds on Brazil offers no value so a good bet to take is for them to win the game in the second half. Ecuador will keep men behind the ball in the hope of keeping the match close and with the way the Brazilian strikers are misfiring, it might not be until the second half until they break the deadlock. Brazil to go through but it might be closer than the bookies think.
