Crystal Palace v Aston Villa Odds Point To More Cup Glory for Villa

Martin O’Neill and his Aston Villa team travel to Crystal Palace this weekend for a fifth round FA Cup tie and a match that they would dearly love to win. Unbeaten so far in 2010, still in the race for a Premier league top four spot and already qualified for the League Cup Final at the end of the month, things could not be much better for this Villa team.

They will go into the match against Palace as 5/6 odds on favourites with Victor Chandler who quote Palace as only a 7/2 chance with the draw being at 5/2.

Villa have got themselves to the fifth round courtesy of wins against Blackburn and a plucky Brighton team, while Palace have had it slightly harder, having to overcome Wolves by 3-1 after a replay.

2010 FA Cup Fifth Round Betting.

That win over Wolves provided a much needed financial tonic for Palace who are struggling to stay afloat both on and off the pitch. They currently sit in a precarious position of just one point above the Championship drop zone and know that relegation could effectively end them as a viable football club in the future. It is why FA Cup runs such as this, whilst generating cash in the short term can easily become a distraction in the long. It is why we take Villa to win this match at the first time of asking, believing that their far superior squad should have too much for a plucky Palace side.

Villa will more than likely be without the in form Gabi Agbonlahor, but his absence should not be too detrimental and we take them to win by a scoreline of 2-0; a Correct Score option that can be backed with odds of 13/2 with VC Bet
