Birmingham v Bolton Odds: Betting suggests Klasnic could be last goalscorer yet again

Cup specialists Birmingham will be looking to move one step closer to another Wembley appearance when they take on Bolton in their FA Cup quarter-final on Saturday lunchtime. The bookmakers can barely choose anything between the sides at St Andrews with Boylesports pricing them each at odds of 13/8, and so it might be worthwhile taking a punt on a draw at industry best priced odds of 23/10.

Birmingham may have won the League Cup last month but they continue to struggle in the Premier League after drawing 1-1 with Everton and are now 17th, just one place above the relegation zone. Cup competitions have continued to provide Alex McCleish's side with plenty of respite as they have won eight of their last ten cup fixtures and six of their last seven in the FA Cup.

They do have injury problems this week though with David Bentley and Barry Ferguson doubts, and Craig Gardner, James McFadden, Alex Hleb and Scott Dann definitely out. In their absence Jean Beausejour has flourished and the Chilean looks great value at odds of 9/2 to score anytime with Boyles, particularly as he scored the opener against Everton to make it two goals in two matches and three in the last four for him.

Bolton meanwhile are seventh in the Premier League and on the hunt for an unlikely European place. They head to St Andrews in high spirits as they are unbeaten in their last five in all competitions - winning four and keeping three clean sheets. Bolton are yet to concede in the FA Cup this season and considering Birmingham are the joint lowest scorers in the League it is no surprise that under 2.5 goals on Saturday is 8/13 on. Furthermore, Bolton have scored only five in six in the Cup this season and have not scored more than one goal against Premier League opposition in the FA Cup since 1994.

Owen Coyle's Bolton also boast an impressive record against Birmingham with three wins and a draw from the last four fixtures and Kevin Davies has taken a liking to them with two goals in his last two against the Blues. He is 7/1 to be first goalscorer on Saturday with Boyles, although he has failed to score in ten matches since the 2-0 win over York.

Ivan Klasnic popped up with the winner against Villa last weekend to take his remarkable tally of scoring the last and winning goals to three in Bolton's last three wins. That includes two in the last two FA Cup away matches and he is available at odds of 6/1 to be last scorer on Saturday with Boylesports.com and that looks very tempting.

Bolton also have injury problems with J'Loyd Samuel, Sam Ricketts and Zat Knight out, and Daniel Sturridge cup-tied, but we fancy them to earn a draw and a replay. A score draw can be backed at odds of 18/5 or the 1-1 is an industry best 11/2 punt, although a replay is not what Birmingham need with their current relegation worries.
