Chelsea Favourites For The FA Cup Following Fourth Round Draw

Premier League leaders Chelsea are the outright favourites to win the FA Cup following Monday night's draw for the fourth round. The Blues can look forward to a meeting with near-neighbours Brentford, with the next round of ties taking place between the 27th and 30th January...

The FA Cup 4th Round Draw In Full.

Chelsea Favourites

Antonio Conte has a fine tradition to uphold with Chelsea in the FA Cup as they have won the competition four times in the past ten years and it is no surprise to see that the London side are now 9/2 market leaders with Sky Bet.

Brentford will be familiar opponents to some at Chelsea as they also met in the FA Cup in 2013, with the Bees earning a 2-2 draw on home soil before losing the replay 4-0 at Stamford Bridge.

The Big Six

Manchester City are then next best at 11/2 with Paddy Power as they bid to win the FA Cup for the first time since 2011. The Citizens romped to a 5-0 win over West Ham in the third round and can now look forward to a trip to the winner of the replay between last year's runners up Crystal Palace or Championship outfit Bolton.

Manchester United are also priced 11/2 ahead of their fourth round clash with 2013 winners Wigan and it bodes well for Jose Mourinho's side that the Red Devils have won seventeen of their previous eighteen clashes with the Latics.

Meanwhile. Liverpool still have to get past a tricky replay with Plymouth if they are to set up a fourth round meeting with Wolves, who stunned Stoke in the third round. Stoke were one of five top-flight teams to exit the competition at the weekend as West Bromwich Albion and Bournemouth were also ousted by lower league opposition, while Everton and Swansea lost to Leicester and Hull respectively.

Arsenal are safely through but the 2014 and 2015 winners face a tough trip to either Southampton or Norwich next up. The Gunners currently co-hold the record for most FA Cup wins with Manchester United and they are 15/2 (Sky Bet) to lift the trophy for a thirteenth time.

Arsenal's North London rivals Tottenham can be backed at 7/1 after drawing League Two's Wycombe Wanderers.

The Rest

There is a clear gap in the market as the current top-six teams in the Premier League standings dominate the head of the betting market and the shortest priced club after Tottenham are Leicester at 25/1 (Betfred).

The Foxes have a tantalising East Midlands derby at Derby County to look forward to, while the lowest ranked team left in the competition, Sutton United, will host Leeds if they win their third round replay with AFC Wimbledon.
