The fourth round draw for the FA Cup has thrown out a host of potentially explosive ties, with Manchester United's trip to Liverpool the pick of the matches to be played at the end of January. United are currently third favourites to win the tournament at 11/2 in the betting with Bet 365, with Chelsea heading the betting at 4/1.
United's visit to Anfield comes swiftly on the back of the suspension for Liverpool's Luis Suarez for racially abusing United's Patrice Evra. Suarez will still be banned for the match and the Merseyside club will have to get to grips with life without the Uruguayan for a while. They comfortably beat Oldham 5-1 on Friday night, while United made hard work of a 3-2 win over Premier League leaders and FA Cup holders Manchester City in their third round match on Sunday.
In another potentially spicy tie, Chelsea will travel to the winner of the third round replay between MK Dons and QPR. Chelsea's John Terry has been accused of racially abusing QPR's Anton Ferdinand, although it is far from a guarantee that QPR will overcome MK Dons after they were held 1-1 by their League One opponents on Saturday. Neil Warnock paid the price as he lost his job as QPR manager and Mark Hughes could well be in charge at Loftus Road by the fourth round as he is hot favourite in the next QPR manager betting.
Elsewhere, Tottenham were installed as second favourites in the latest FA Cup betting after they comfortably overcame Cheltenham in round three. They travel to Watford in the next round and can be backed at 5/1 with Bet365.com as Spurs bid to win the competition for the first time in 21 years.
Tottenham's London rivals Arsenal will host Aston Villa. Arsenal are currently 15/2 to win the tournament and they have enjoyed the luck of the draw with two consecutive matches at home. The draw could be a disaster for Aston Villa, who are now 40/1 to win the FA Cup, and most pundits believe that Alex McLeish could do with a cup run as he bids to appease restless Villa fans and he remains short priced in the next manager to be sacked betting.
The winner of the third round replay between Brighton or Wrexham will host Premier League opposition in the form of Newcastle, who are currently available at 18/1 with B365. Newcastle's North East rivals face a match against one another as Sunderland (18/1) host their near neighbours Middlesbrough in what could be another enthralling tie.
Meanwhile, last year's finalists Stoke are 20/1 after they were drawn away to Derby, while Everton (20/1) meet Fulham (33/1) in another all Premier League match up.
