Man United v AC Milan Odds for Champions League 2nd Leg Spell Woe For Beckham.

Man Utd have been red hot favourites to win this second leg at Old Trafford against AC Milan and former United hero, David Beckham, this coming Wednesday. Holding a 3-2 lead from the away leg, United, whether with or without Wayne Rooney should have too much know how for Milan, who looked like a side that struggles at the highest level in the first leg.

Paddy Power Bookmakers make United 4/6 odds on favourites to win the leg, with Milan at 9/2 and the draw at 5/2. They also make the Red Devils 1/20 odds on to qualify for the last eight, while Milan are quoted at 15/2.

Much will no doubt be made of David Beckham’s return to Old Trafford, but even he will know that his side have a ‘tall order’ on their plate to get through to the next round from here, particularly with United in such great form lately. That said it is interesting to note that the last time Beckham played in a Champions League game at Old Trafford he score twice!

With Rooney being an unlikely starter and Michael Owen out for the rest of the season, it looks like Dimitar Berbatov will be the man punters will turn towards to get the goals in this match. Berbatov is 13/10 to score during the match, but he has a nice price of 9/2 with Paddy power to score the opening goal. For those Beckham romantics, he is an 18/1 bet to score the opening goal and 13/2 to score on the night.

We think United will win this match, but they will have to expect a backlash from AC Milan, particularly to begin with. We do not think that there will be many goals so a scoreline of 1-0 sounds sensible which with odds of 11/2 looks like a good bet to us.
