England To Cover A Handicap In Final World Cup Qualifier In Lithuania

England booked their place at the 2018 World Cup in Russia with an insipid 1-0 win over Slovenia on Thursday night and they next head to Lithuania for what is effectively a dead rubber but we do fancy Gareth Southgate's men to be a bit more clinical in this final Group F encounter on Sunday evening....

It's Coming Home

Southgate's men have much to prove after threatening to drown under a barrage of criticism following Thursday's embarrassing efforts at Wembley, where they again looked to freeze under the weight of expectation.

The pressure is off in Vilnius on Sunday though and Dele Alli returns from suspension so we fully expect the Three Lions to be better to watch, with Boylesports going 23/20 about another win to nil.
Match Odds:

England To Cover A Handicap

England have gone unbeaten in Group F, winning seven and drawing two, and they have kept seven clean sheets in that time, so they will fancy their chances of keeping Lithuania out. Indeed, Lithuania have only won one qualifier during this campaign (drawn three, lost five) and they have never scored in three previous meetings with England.

The teams met during qualifying for Euro 2016, with England winning 4-0 and 3-0, before they edged to a 2-0 victory at Wembley earlier this year.

England to cover -2 goals in the handicap market is an interesting bet (14/5 with Unibet) and we fancy them to show a bit more going forward as they can afford to play with more freedom, while it is an ideal opportunity for Southgate to learn more about his team ahead of next summer's World Cup finals in Russia.

Harry Kane is the 23/10 favourite to score first (Betfred) after notching 11 goals in 22 internationals, while he is 10/1 to score a hat-trick after notching two or more goals in six of his past ten games for club and country (14 goals in total).
