The Draw Is A Stand Out Bet For Georgia v Wales

Wales simply have to win their two remaining World Cup qualifiers to stand any chance of automatic qualification for Russia next summer and they will have to do without their talisman as Gareth Bale is set to miss Friday night's clash with Georgia in Tbilisi...

  • Georgia have never lost in four previous meetings with Wales - Won Three, Drawn One
  • Georgia have drawn five of their eight 2018 World Cup qualifiers
  • Wales have drawn three of their four 2018 World Cup qualifiers away from home

Tips The Draw    Best Bet @ 12 / 5

How It Stands

Bale has been ruled out for a month and that is a massive blow for a Wales side who are currently second in Group D, four points behind leaders Serbia, with this match against Georgia and a home game against Ireland on Monday to come.

Chris Coleman's men, who are bidding to qualify for a World Cup for the first time since 1958, know that four points would probably be enough to secure them second spot in the group and potentially go through to next month's play-offs and we fancy that a draw might be as good as it gets on Friday night.

The draw can be backed at 12/5 (Bet 365) and Wales have drawn five of their eight qualifiers (won three), including three of their four on the road (drawn one), while Georgia have drawn five of their eight qualifiers as well.

9/2 5 19/4 19/4 17/4 5 9/2

No Bale, No Party?

Four of Georgia's five draws have ended with a 1-1 scoreline (11/2 with B365) and this could be another low scoring encounter after the pair drew 1-1 in Cardiff twelve months ago.

It was Bale who scored for Wales when these sides last met and his absence on Friday is a huge issue for a team that has won just seven of 32 matches (drawn nine, lost sixteen) without him since he made his international debut in 2006. Of those seven wins, only two have been in competitive matches (at Azerbaijan in 2009 and against Macedonia in 2013) and it could be a struggle against a Georgian outfit that has specialised in frustrating teams during this qualification campaign.
