Fulham v Tottenham Betting: Spurs favourites to win at Craven Cottage

Fulham welcome Tottenham to Craven Cottage in the live Premier League kick-off this Sunday afternoon. Both sides are returning from European duty, although Spurs had the luxury of fielding a second string side and they look worthy 5/4 favourites in the match betting with Paddy Power, while Fulham are priced 11/5.

Martin Jol's Fulham overcame Wisla Krakow 4-1 on Thursday night and the Dutchman is preparing to face the club he used to manage. Recent trends don't favour Jol's current team as Fulham have won only one of five league matches directly after a Europa League tie.

They have fielded a first choice team for much of the competition and that could give Spurs the edge, with Jol also having to deal with injuries to Philip Senderos, Aaron Hughes and Simon Davies this weekend.

Jol will be encouraged by the scoring form of Andrew Johnson though as the former England striker notched two against Wisla to take his tally to eight in eight matches, with Paddy Power offering 15/2 that he scores first on Sunday.

The first scorer market could be worth a look as PaddyPower.com are offering to refund all losing first goalscorer, last goalscorer, correct score and scorecast single bets if Rafael Van Der Vaart scores the last goal of Sunday's match.

Van Der Vaart has certainly been in fine form for Tottenham as he has now scored six goals in his last five appearances and he can be backed at odds of 11/2 to score first. It certainly looks worthwhile to back a Spurs player to score first as they have scored first in their last seven league matches, while Fulham have conceded first in eight of ten.

Spurs have been on a fine run of form since being humbled 5-1 by Manchester City and they look more than capable of securing a top four place in the league this season. Eight of the last nine league matches involving Tottenham have involved over 2.5 goals and over 2.5 this weekend can be backed at 5/6.

Manager Harry Redknapp is likely to miss the match as he recovers from heart surgery, although he won't have been too disconcerted by Spurs' 1-0 loss to Rubin Kazan in the Europa League on Thursday night.

It was very much a reserve Spurs team and all the big guns are expected to return on Sunday as they look to extend a fine run of league form that has seen them take 19 points from their last seven matches.

Spurs have a fine record against Fulham, despite the shock 4-0 loss in the FA Cup last term, as Fulham have won only one of the last ten Fulham v Spurs league encounters. Furthermore, Fulham have failed to score in four of the last five league matches against Tottenham and the Spurs clean sheet is available at odds of 2/1.

We fancy Spurs to win this one and continue their fine run of form, with the correct score of 2-1 available at 15/2 with Paddy Power, while Fulham's run of only one win in five at home could be extended to six.
