Argentina and Brazil stay at the head of the Copa America betting despite struggles

Hosts Argentina and defending champions Brazil both struggled in their opening group games of Copa America 2011.

Argentina looked to be heading for a shock defeat against Bolivia in the opening game of the tournament before Sergio Aguero levelled 14 minutes from time for a 1-1 draw.

In the other Group A game Colombia were made to work hard for a 1-0 win over Costa Rica who played much of the game with 10 men. Following the results on Saturday night, Unibet eased Argentina to 3/10 whilst shortening Colombia to 11/5 to win Group A.

Sunday night’s games in Group B saw defending champions Brazil take on lowly Venezuela with Mario Menezes' side as short as 1/10 to win the contest. Venezuela has the distinction of the only South American country to have never qualified for a World Cup, and few expected them to get any kind of result against the five-time World Cup champions.

In what will be seen as one of the greatest shocks of Copa America 2011, the Brazilians missed several chances with Pato, Neymar and Robinho all unable to break the deadlock as Venezuela held on for a scoreless draw.

The other encounter of the group also finished 0-0 between Paraguay and Ecuador.

In the Outright betting both Argentina and Brazil remain at the head of the betting available at 11/10 and 11/5 respectively with Unibet.com. Third favourites Uruguay, 15/2, play their opening game on Monday evening against Peru.
