Spurs v Villa Odds Look Outstanding Value for Draw

Aston Villa travel to White Hart Lane this weekend knowing full well that they will be involved in a massively important match for both themselves and Tottenham. Villa and Spurs of course are two of four teams who have a realistic chance of gaining a top four spot in the league this season but any ground lost now could prove crucial, meaning that neither side will be wanting to give anything away cheaply.

Spurs are the 6/5 favourites to win the match with Boylesports but Villa fans will be keen to take those odds on and back their team at 23/10, while neutral punters could well be content with the 9/4 available for a draw. After all the two sides shared two goals in their league encounter at Villa Park at the end of November.

It has been a strange January overall for Villa, who qualified for the final of the Carling Cup with an unlikely scoreline of 6-4 against Blackburn. They had already dumped Blackburn out of the FA Cup a couple of weeks earlier and have since moved into the fifth round of that competition after narrowly beating lowly Brighton by 3-2. They also remained unbeaten last month in the Premier League with two draws and a 2-0 win against Fulham last weekend, with Gabi Agbonlahor netting twice.

Spurs have also shown good form overall with only one premier League defeat in their last eight matches. They currently sit in the coveted number 4 spot but know that the pressure to remain there will be immense over the next couple of months. It is interesting to note therefore that Boylesports have Spurs at 10/3 and Villa at 7/2 to claim the fourth spot, which are odds we think will interest both sets of fans.

This is a very close game to call, between two sides who seem evenly matched and playing to a similar level of form. Perhaps home advantage will give Spurs the edge, but the Villa defence is a strong one, particularly when away from home. We think therefore that the safest bet to be on is a 0-0 draw; it seems a highly likely outcome and carries very attractive odds of 8/1 from Boylesports.
