There is another all-Premiership affair in the third round of the FA Cup this weekend as Swansea take on Arsenal in the live Sunday lunchtime match. There isn't much to choose between the sides and whoever makes it through this tie at the Liberty Stadium will fancy their chances of going all the way to Wembley in May.
Arsenal do edge the latest match betting as they are priced 23/20 by Ladbrokes, who go 9/4 on Swansea's chances and 12/5 about the draw. It will be interesting to see how Swansea manager Michael Laudrup approaches the game as the Welsh side are in action in the semi-finals of the Capital One Cup on Wednesday night.
Laudrup may be tempted to rest a few players and some might even take their eye off the ball so to speak, although Arsenal's ability to shoot themselves in the foot makes them tough to back for the win in Wales. The Gunners have mixed some impressive results with some hugely disappointing efforts and that makes them a tough betting proposition.
They beat Newcastle 7-3 last weekend but could then only draw 1-1 at Southampton and it is that inconsistency which infuriates Arsenal fans. Theo Walcott, who is 5/1 to score first in the latest betting with Ladbrokes, has at least remained the one consistent in this side as his hat-trick against Newcastle took his tally to 14 goals in 20 appearances for the season.
However, the Gunners, who are sixth in the Premier League table, remain defensively suspect and a vibrant Swansea side will fancy their chances of getting on the scoresheet. Swansea are 13/8 to score over 1.5 goals on Sunday and they have only failed to score in one of 13 games at the Liberty Stadium this season.
Michu has been a major reason for that stat as the Spaniard has scored 14 goals in 21 games and he is 5/1 to score first. Danny Graham could be worth a look to get on the scoresheet though as he has enjoyed the benefit of an extended spell in the team with two goals in his last two games. He has made a habit of popping up with late goals, including in the 2-2 draw with Aston Villa on New Year's Day, and he is 7/1 to be last goalscorer again.
Graham scored the winner in this Swansea v Arsenal league fixture at the Liberty Stadium last January and the Swans won 2-0 when the teams met at the Emirates earlier this term. They have continued to impress under Laudrup but there is a worry that they might have half an eye on the first leg of Wednesday's cup semi-final.
Arsenal may not be the most impressive of teams on the road but they have lost just three of 16 away games in all competitions this term and they wouldn't be displeased with a draw on Sunday. The score draw is priced 3/1 and that can be enhanced by backing a 2-2 correct scoreline, which is 11/1 with Ladbrokes.
