Mourinho To Leave His Mark On Chelsea v Man United On Super Sunday

Super Sunday concludes with Chelsea v Manchester United in what will be the final Premier League game before another dreaded international break and we fancy the party-pooper Jose Mourinho might make it a tight affair at Stamford Bridge...

  • Manchester United have won one of their past fourteen meetings with Chelsea - a 2-0 success at Old Trafford in April
  • United haven't won at Stamford Bridge since 2012
  • Romelu Lukaku is yet to score in six Premier League appearances against his old club Chelsea

Only one team to score @ 13 / 10

Recent Form

Mourinho was burned by a 4-0 defeat when he returned to the Bridge as United manager last season and he will be desperate to avoid a repeat. Expect him to use his old spoiler tactics again this weekend, as he has done against Liverpool and Tottenham in recent weeks, and the draw is looking a decent price at 9/4 (Bet 365) at this stage.

United, who have won seven, drawn two and lost one in the league this term, have a dreadful record at Stamford Bridge as they haven't won a game there since 2012 and they are 2/1 for victory.

They come up against a Chelsea side that has won six, drawn one and lost three in the top-flight but all is not well with Antonio Conte's men and they make little appeal at 11/8.
Match Odds:

Spoiler

A stunning defeat to Palace has been followed by unconvincing league wins over Watford and Bournemouth but they were thrashed 3-0 by Roma in the Champions League in mid-week and that has set alarm bells ringing.

Expect Conte to get his team defending properly once more this weekend and backing only one team to score is a 13/10 bet (Coral), which looks good when you consider that Mourinho has played nine away games at the so-called 'big six' since the start of 2015 and his team has scored in only one of those!

United defended before striking late on in a 1-0 win over Tottenham last weekend and we can see this match being another slow-burner, with Betfair going 6/5 for the second-half to be highest scoring.

Indeed, United have scored 16 of their 23 goals in the second-half, including a league-high 12 in the final 15 minutes, and this could be another of those drab affairs that Mourinho loves so much.
