Birmingham v West Brom Betting: Draw provides tempting odds for relegation clash

Carling Cup winners Birmingham return to Premier League action this weekend when they host fellow relegation candidates and West Midlands rivals West Brom at St Andrews on Saturday lunchtime. Sixteenth placed Birmingham are only one point and two places ahead of West Brom at this stage and will have to quickly return to the 'daily grind' after the euphoria of their Carling Cup win against Arsenal on Sunday. West Brom themselves are fighting for their lives under Roy Hodgson, and the former Liverpool manager needs to quickly reverse a personal record of one away win in 28 attempts.

Birmingham have been a strong proposition at home, losing only three of the last 29 at St Andrews, but still find themselves in relegation difficulties. Nikola Zigic is starting to repay his manager after his move to the Midlands in the summer by scoring four goals in his last five and he is well worth a look to be first goalscorer at 11/2 in the betting with Paddy Power. West Brom are unbeaten under Hodgson after rescuing draws against Wolves and Stoke in recent weeks, and the on loan Carlos Vela has scored both the goals in those matches to save Albion.
