Bristol City v Middlesbrough Odds: Betting Points To A Draw At Ashton Gate

A rejuvenated Bristol City take on promotion-pushing Middlesbrough at Ashton Gate in Saturday’s Championship teatime match live on Sky Sports 2. Bookmaker Ladbrokes cannot separate the teams, pricing them both at 8/5 for the win, making a draw pretty tempting at 12/5.

Bristol City head into Saturday’s clash with four wins from their last six matches, including a comfortable 2-0 victory against league leaders Southampton in their last home game. Meanwhile, Middlesbrough’s drive has waned recently and they are without a win in three matches, which has seen them fall to 4th, 10 points adrift of pace setters Southampton and eight points behind second-placed West Ham.

The resurgent Robins look a completely different outfit under new boss Derek McInnes. Since his arrival they have picked up 14 points from seven games, in contrast to a pitiful six points from their opening 12 matches under former boss Keith Millen, which included just a single win. Middlesbrough suffered a blow mid-week when they lost at home to promotion rivals West Ham but boss Tony Mowbray will expect his players to prove themselves and bounce back against City.

The last time the two sides met Middlesbrough ran riot, thrashing City 4-0 at Ashton Gate. It will surely be a much closer match this time round and due to recent performances the momentum is definitely with the home side. City have scored at least two goals in their last four matches and on current form you wouldn’t back against them hitting the back of the net more than once this Saturday, with McInnes’ men available at 10/1 to win 2-0 or 2-1. Meanwhile, Boro have an impressive away record, winning five matches on the road this season, and are priced at 9/1 to come away with a 2-1 win. Alternatively a draw may be the way to go, with 2-2 looking tempting at 16/1 with Ladbrokes.com.

City’s Nicky Maynard, who has three goals in his last three games, is the 6/1 favourite to open the scoring, while winger Albert Adomah is available at 7/1. Boro’s top goalscorer this season, Marvin Emnes, can be backed at 7/1 to score first, as can Scott McDonald. Barry Robson scored in that 4-0 win back in January and is available at 8/1 to grab the first goal of the game.
