Crystal Palace v Derby Odds: Darren Ambrose looks tempting in the first scorer betting

Crystal Palace will be brimming with confidence ahead of their live Championship match with Derby at Selhurst Park on Friday night. Palace beat Manchester United in the Carling Cup on Wednesday and they are 6/5 to defeat Derby, who are available at odds of 9/4. However, Palace have little time to recover from Wednesday's exertions and the draw looks a decent punt at 23/10 with Bet 365, who will be streaming the match live on their website.

Palace produced a massive effort to defeat Man United after extra time in the Carling Cup quarter-finals on Wednesday, but with so little time to recover this week we fancy they might struggle to get going. They are already counting the cost of their win at Old Trafford as Dean Moxey, Wilfred Zaha and Sean Scannell are doubts, while Jonathan Williams, Alex Marrow and Lee Hills remain long term absentees.

Dougie Freedman's men ended a five match goal drought on Wednesday as Darren Ambrose struck the opening goal with a stunning 35 yard drive. Derby have some serious troubles of their own as they languish in sixteenth place in the Championship table and Nigel Clough is under increasing pressure. He has watched his side fail to win their last five matches and they have won just one of their last eleven, with that sole three points coming against a troubled Portsmouth.

Clough's plans won't be helped by the news that Theo Robinson, who has scored four goals in six matches, is likely to miss the trip to Selhurst Park and his goals will be greatly missed. It leaves Tamas Priskin to shoulder the burden of scoring and he is priced 7/1 by B365.

Furthermore, Derby have failed to keep a clean sheet in their last eleven matches and only Crystal Palace to score in the match can be backed at 12/5 with Bet365. Palace, who have lost just once at home all season, are unbeaten in their last six at home against Derby but the fact they arrive on the back of a gruelling 120 minutes against Man United makes the result of a draw look a decent punt. Meanwhile, no goal in the match is available at juicy odds of 8/1.
