The top eight PDC players in the world are invited each year to take part in a 14 week long League championship, which is promoted and televised each week by Sky Sports. It has become known as the Darts Premier League.
Winner in 2010 was Phil Taylor, but he had to put in a fantastic performance to hold off the challenge of the 2009 champion, James Wade.
