The UK Open is an exciting darts tournament and has gained in popularity over the years, both with the viewing and betting public. It involves over 100 players competing in a single elimination event that has drawn comparisons with football's FA Cup in recent years.
However, there is no seeding system used so the likes of Phil Taylor and Raymond Van Barneveld could draw each other in the first round. While lesser lights could shine if they enjoy an easier draw. It makes for an exciting betting spectacle, with bookmakers providing odds on each match, outright winners and plenty of other markets.
It takes place each year in June at the Reebok Stadium in Bolton, and it could be worth looking out for odds on a nine dart finish as there have plenty of them during previous UK Open tournaments - with Phil Taylor throwing four of them 2004, 2005, 2007 and 2008, and Merv King got in on the act with one of his own in 2010.
Unsurprisingly Phil Taylor is often at the head of the betting and he comfortably leads the way with most UK Open darts tournament wins.....
| Year | Winner | Runner Up | Score |
| 2003 | Phil Taylor | Shayne Burgess | 18-8 |
| 2004 | Roland Scholten | John Part | 11-6 |
| 2005 | Phil Taylor | Mark Walsh | 13-7 |
| 2006 | Raymond van Barneveld | Barrie Bates | 13-7 |
| 2007 | Raymond van Barneveld | Vincent van der Voort | 16-8 |
| 2008 | James Wade | Gary Mawson | 11-7 |
| 2009 | Phil Taylor | Colin Osborne | 11-6 |
| 2010 | Phil Taylor | Gary Anderson | 11-5 |
| 2011 | James Wade | Wes Newton | 11-8 |
James Wade claimed the UK Open for the second time in his career as he overcame Wes Newton 11-8 in the final at the Reebok Stadium in Bolton. Reigning champion Phil Taylor was sensationally knocked out in the fifth round by Paul Nicholson, who had accounted for Gary Anderson earlier in the tournament.
The latest odds will appear here as soon as they are available.....
Phil Taylor is more dominant in the sport of darts than any other sportsman is in their sport, including, Tiger Woods in golf and Roger Federer in tennis.
Taylor known as 'The Power', has also become known as Mr World Champion; and he has been a dominant force in the PDC Championship in recent years.
Despite his dominance the PDC World Championship will still be one of the most popular sporting events televised during the coming year for which once again the great man will be a masssive odds on favourite to win, although the likes of Gary Anderson, Adrian Lewis and James Wade will be keen to topple him.....
