The Premier League Darts Championship gets underway once again this week, with the first round of matches being played at the O2 Arena. The eight top players in the world will fight it out over 14 weeks until the top four are decided, who will then move onto the knock out phase of the tournament.
Arguably the match of the evening is the Raymond Van Barnaveld encounter with reigning champion, James Wade, but it is a close call between that match and the World Final re-match between champion, Phil Taylor and top Aussie, Simon Whitlock.
Favourite to win the tournament outright is of course Taylor, who is a very unattractive 4/11 odds on with Paddy Power, but conversely the odds of 8/1 are very generous on Wade retaining his crown as they are too about Van Barnaveld, who is as long as 12/1 with the same Bookmakers.
